I walk out in front of my son toward the five enemies. “Dad, what are you doing?” he asks.

“Lay down your weapons and surrender. We don’t want to hurt…” I begin, but am interrupted by a hail of gunfire.

I focus a telekinetic shield with my left hand, and with the right I direct a TK blast toward the counter. The bullets bounce harmlessly off the TK shield. As the counter flies back forcing the mercenaries into the wall, I see the familiar flash of a teleporter. Suddenly, there is a knife at my throat.
